Hey--I've been thinking about you. Yes, you. You're the one that really, really wants to play some really great music in a very safe, forgiving group that loves to play ukulele and sing. Really sing. Not just mumble-bumble sing, but shout it, scream it, bellow it...Or hum it, that is, until you get the tune in your head and you've got nothing left but to belt it out...
Join me. I'm playing my ukulele--my crappy, $50 Makala with original strings and you'll be playing whatever you can afford, too. Got a fancy uke? That's fine. Is it plastic? Fantastic. Sing and play with me if you want to. IF you are ready to change your life with a few chords and all the songs you've ever wanted to play. Start a file, make a collection on your computer, collect everything you've ever wanted to try on an instrument and let's get started.
What are you listening to right now?
I would love to, but as it were...I am completely talentless musically. My son has told me not to sing before and he's only 2! It's sad really. I can't play any instruments either, because I lack coordination.
ReplyDeleteHush. You can play. Anyone can. Only people who have been told not to think they can't; I was told not to sing when I was NINE (Jerk choir teacher). An entire life had been spent mumble singing, basically assuming that I was an assault on all peoples' ears. It took until I was nearly 30 to sing out loud, and I'm still shaky at it. Read the above bit about SAFE. No 2 yr. olds, no drama. As Yoda said--There is no try, only do.
ReplyDeleteWhat. I find your blog only to note it's ONE YEAR old. You can't quit writing just when I'm getting started. You have a way with words. Don't stop!
